“Exactly!” Miriam interrupted. “That is what I thought – God has spoken through me, and he has definitely spoken through you. Why is it then that only Moses gets acknowledged?”
Aaron shrugged.
“And furthermore,” She said, “His words shouldn’t always be trusted.”
“What do you mean?” Aaron frowned.
“He’s not a great judge of character, is he? Don’t you know who he married? Hah!” Miriam placed a hand on her hip and pointed with her index finger. “She is a Cushite woman. How could he even consider marrying her!”
Aaron let out a nervous laugh, “True sis, true. Even I was surprised at his choice.” Aaron shook his head.
“Do you see then,” Miriam folded her arms across her chest, “that I am right. That we should also get the privileges he does. He isn’t all that righteous.”
“I see your point…” Aaron’s voice trailed off and motioned for Miriam to be quiet. He tiptoed towards the tent opening and swung the flap open. There standing in front of him was Moses.
A grim look covered his face.
Miriam gulped.
She knew he had heard everything."
